Coverage of the annual Cinco de Meow fundraiser at Friends of Cats, featuring food, silent auction, and shelter tours.

Friends of Cats held their annual "Cinco de Meow" fundraiser on Saturday, May 4, 2024, from 10am to 2pm at their El Cajon shelter location. This beloved community event brought together cat lovers, donors, and volunteers for an afternoon of food, fun, and feline friendship.

The family-friendly event featured a complimentary Mexican food buffet, a cat boutique with themed gifts, shelter tours, silent auction bidding on quilts and prizes, and opportunities to visit with the shelter's adoptable cats. Attendees could also donate cat food to support the shelter's 270+ resident cats.

For supporters unable to attend in person, Friends of Cats offered Cinco de Meow themed merchandise through their Bonfire store, with 30% of proceeds benefiting the shelter, as well as the ability to purchase cat food through Chewy for direct delivery.
